Logo design

Lasting Impressions Interior Design and Feng Shui. Napa, California.

Update client's identity to embrace a feng shui approach to living space. Create a logo that works equally well on black background.

Eastern influences in the lotus and choice of typestyle. Gradient used to hint at the after image or "lasting impression".

As an interior designer, the client's emphasis
had been on window coverings and fabric treatments. After coursework in Feng Shui, she saw the world differently and wanted the new vision reflected in her look.

The lotus was scanned from an antique botanical drawing and isolated from its background in Adobe Photoshop. Type was set and gradient applied in Adobe Illustrator.

Created March, 2001, pushed by the deadline for the new yellow pages directory. Ad was reverse printed on a black background for dramatic effect.
